History of Coop Elementary

Coop Elementary is named in honor of Ethel R. Coop, who served as a dedicated trustee on the HISD Board of Education from 1928 to 1942. In recognition of her lasting impact and many contributions to the community, the school was established and named after her in 1950, just two years after her passing.
